Join the Community of Choir Alumni and Sing Again!
NEW INFORMATION AS OF APRIL 2022!
My dear students and friends. Apparently, this was still not the right time to begin our Alumni Choir. Our plans for a May 18 performance will have to be postponed to next year due to a very small response from singers. We are committed to making this project a reality and to honoring the contributions that alumni have made thus far. We will regroup this summer and see if we cannot get the choir up and running. Thank you for your patience! For now. . . 1. Be ready to come out and sing with us for the Winter Concert in December 2022. Carol of the Bells (for all) and Halleluiah Chorus (for those still actively singing) are the staples for this concert and more information will be found on this page. 2. All memberships are IN GOOD STANDING through the end of next Spring. We will assume that the pandemic will not be an issue in keeping people away next year. 3. We still have your T-Shirts and we are planning on mailing them out to you over the summer. 4. The Winter and Spring scores and part recordings will be posted below indefinitely for your convenience. 5. Anyone may still join and be included in our B & G Brick Association through next Spring. And, ALL LHHS CONCERTS ARE FREE for you to attend with your membership through next Spring! (Even Blue Brick members, see below.) 6. If you have a new address or email, please contact me and send me your new information. davypavy@aol.com Let's spread the word and get everyone involved! I would love to make music with you all again, and Samantha would love to help me see this project become a reality. Cheers! Mr. David V. Montoya Ms. Samantha Stapish |
Dear Choir Alumni,
It is with great joy that Mr. Montoya and I present to you The Blue & Gold Brick Association! Navigating through high school as an adolescent included the coming-of-age adversities that many of us can commiserate about, but being in the La Habra High School Choir made that journey a little bit easier. It gave us an hour of the day that we could put aside those burdens and simply sing with a community of peers where felt we belonged. Room 370 was not an ordinary place, but to many a safe haven where special things happened. We sang, we strummed ukuleles, we listened to spooky stories about the purple piece of paper, and we even wrote haikus about SPAM. Some of us have continued singing in different capacities, whether it has been in college, community choirs, or simply in the shower. Regardless of how long it has been since you have dusted off your choir folder, we would love to continue to be an outlet for your music-making. On that note (pun intended!), we invite you to sing with us, The Blue & Gold & Brick Association. Take a moment and reflect upon the reason you joined choir in the first place all those years ago. I hope you remember the result of that decision with great fondness because it would bring us such joy to sing with YOU again! Sincerely, Samantha Stapish - Class of 2014 |
